Reducing Restrictive Interventions

Half & Full Day

Suitable for clinical and non-clinical health and social care professionals working in a mental health setting. Suitable for health and social care students.

Restrictive practice in a mental health setting may be common place and necessary as a last resort to provide safe care. Aligned Minds will support your organisations to review its current practice and implement a proactive and positive culture that encourages transparency, excellent communication and collaborative working.

Aim – Participants will reflect on their current practice and learn how to identify individuals at risk of restrictive interventions. We will explore the reasons for clinically challenging behaviour and identify triggers and de-escalation opportunities. Participants will gain an understanding in the purpose and functions of behaviour and work collaboratively to address individual needs.
